Interesting things I have learnt about Denmark

1) They have a cool recycling system. Basically you pay a tax of 1-3 kr whenever you buy anything in a glass or plastic bottle. Then if you bring it to a recycling machine you get a receipt which you can use to offset your next grocery bill. So it's like the $1 supermarket trolley system applied to bottles. I think we should implement that too!

2) A part-time supermarket cashier here can earn around 120 kr per hour. That's like 30 SGD an hour. When I was interning for The Company I got like what, 50 SGD a day.

3) Currently there is an E. coli scare going around so I brushed my teeth this morning with mineral water (cos I was too lazy to boil water and then wait for it to cool down). Maybe I'll just eat sandwiches until all this is cleared up because I really don't want to have to boil water just to wash dishes. Or will it die if I just let the plate air-dry? How about if I wash with tap water but rinse with clean water before I want to use it? Halp plz!

4) If you have a CPR number (a number that makes you a person in Denmark - without it you cannot have a bank account, internet access, or free health services) you are entitled to free Danish lessons for 3 years, so you have no excuse if you're an immigrant and say you have no money to learn Danish.
