Today in French tutorial we had to compare two hotels. One was called L'Olivier, but the other one had no name. Our tutor asked us to suggest a name for it. Our comparison sentences all went something like: "Les nuits dans L'hôtel 81 sont plus intéressants que L'Olivier," and "Les serveuses dans L'hôtel 81 sont plus séduisante que L'Olivier."
Also, during my French lecture on Wednesdays this Mysterious French Lady keeps coming to find my lecturer at the beginning and end of class! Nobody seems to know who she is or if she is another lecturer or not. Which is sad because we are all scandalmongers. VIVIEN DO YOU KNOW WHO THIS LADY IS DOES SHE COME TO YOUR CLASS TOO? In other things: I was doodling Pokémon on my lecture notes and my friend (not Clingy, in case you were wondering) leaned over and went, "Oh, so cute!" Me: Thanks! (all nonchalant) So...did you play Pokémon when you were a kid? Her: Yeah. (sheepishly) Actually...I still play it now a bit. Me: REALLY ME TOO Her: YEAH MY BROTHER PLAYS RUBY AND SAPPHIRE AND I PLAY EMERALD Me: YEAH I PLAYED EMERALD TOO OMG YAYYYYYYY other people in NUS play Pokémon too! The last time I enthused about Pokémon to an acquaintance in NUS (I think I asked, excitedly, if he knew HeartGold/SoulSilver was being released) he replied: "Er...actually I stopped playing after the first one." So I had to do a quick cover-up and say something like, "Yah er actually I don't really play now also." >: |
